Make a healthy choice an easy choice! Healthy Savannah is dedicated to making Savannah a healthier place to live. We aim to increase opportunities for everyone to engage in physical activity and consume a nutritious, balanced diet. Through continual community outreach, Healthy Savannah brings together the people, programs, and partners to Identify and share resources; Collect and disseminate information; Promote best practices; Support innovative programs, and Advocate for effective policies. Healthy Savannah is active at community events for wellness, advocates for policies that provide for community health, maintains a website with robust information, and has strong presence on Facebook and Twitter

From its 2007 launch as the Healthy Savannah initiative by Savannah Mayor Otis Johnson, Healthy Savannah continues to grow and evolve. Over the past ten years, the Healthy Savannah coalition has grown from 20 active partners to over 100 public-private organizations to advance a culture of health. In 2014, the Healthy Savannah Faith and Health Coalition formed – an alliance of faith-based organization leaders whose mission is to promote a holistic culture of health through policies and programs for health ministries. Healthy Savannah is also a 2017 founding member of “Tide to Town – Savannah’s Urban Trail System.” This organization is developing a master plan to connect all of our communities with a reliable, non-motorized transportation network.

A diverse group of dedicated volunteers and the involvement of many keep Healthy Savannah operating and moving forward. Parents, teachers, workers, church members, neighborhood associations, metro and campus police, worksites, community leaders, policymakers, and other critical stakeholders all work together to implement practical solutions to Savannah’s barriers to healthy living.
